Fahlmans, Helsingborg
An institution in Helsingborg. Classic bakery and café in historic corner building in the heart of Gamla Stan. There is seating indoors and out. A fantastic array of delicious home mades cakes and wonderful seasonal window displays to tempt you. Skånsk spettkaka on sale – it has PGI status under EU law – open sandwiches of seafood, mini quiches and a plentiful supply of coffee. Celebrating a century here and retaining many original features it is a must to visit.

Family business with dainty fishing stuga by harbour beside Lars’ fishing boat. Here he is pictured with his granddaughter who helps in the shop. The shallow sandy bottom here is famous for its flat fish: plaice, flounder, dabs. He also catches cod and has a couple of friends who fish off Skillinge.

Charming estate where the lady creates wonderful spettkakor, a special Skånsk celebration, a towering creation of egg baked in a highly unique way with specialist equipment. Tastes sweet and crunchy, served with whipped cream and berries, perfect for weddings, christenings and any other excuse! Handled correctly it should be cut with a miniature saw specifically for this purpose-this one has a birch handle.
